EU.Lic.Psychotherapist - modality Systemic Family Therapy, Advanced Practicum Supervisor in Reality Therapy, MA of Social Work, 20 years of experience
I was born in Sarajevo, where I completed elementary school and second gymnasium in Sarajevo and then successfully Faculty of Social work. After graduation, I attend a five-year Formal Education in Theory of Choice (Reality Therapy), Quality School and Collaborative Leadership; I get advanced practicum supervisor certificate. During the same period, I was the president of the Association for Reality Therapy T.I. Sarajevo.
At the same time, I am enrolling and successfully completing a four-year Specialization in Systemic Family Therapy, up to the certification of a family psychotherapist (Institute of Mental Health BG). Then I get the European License for Psychotherapist (family therapy modality) and I am on the list of therapists of BiH of the European Association for Psychotherapy.
In addition, I completed introductory education in Emotionally Focused Therapy with Couples, Imago Therapy Introduction and education on the topic of Grieving in Children and participated in numerous seminars.
Since February 2003, I have worked in the Family Counseling Center Sarajevo as a counselor-therapist (individual, marriage and family therapy; created and led educational workshops for young people and lectures for parents of all elementary schools in Sarajevo Canton as part of the project of prevention of juvenile delinquency. For the past 12 years, I have gained experience working with victims/survivors of serious crimes.
Some of the topics or issues that persons, in the last 20 years, have been addressing me for are;
- Developmental problems of the family and adaptation to new situations such as entering into marriage, the birth of a child, starting a child in kindergarten or school, puberty and adolescence, separation of children and parents, age of parents and life without children in the family
- Separation and divorce
- Marital and family conflicts
- Loss and grief
- Social adaptation
- Individual and professional stress.
I cultivate a humanistic, depathologizing approach in work. I believe in the strength and potential of every human being to live life in harmony with himself and with his environment. I see a family as a unique organization. Working with an individual, I work indirectly to build important relationships in relationships, marriage, family, and the environment.
I have experience in leading groups for professionals, with the aim of preventing burn-out and educational groups and workshops for professionals and others. I do therapy in BHS languages and in English.
