My name is Kristina Barbarić. I hold a master’s degree in pedagogy and am currently completing my psychotherapy training in Reality Therapy. I am in the final stages of my psychotherapy education and incorporate the knowledge and principles of Reality Therapy into my work, supported by ongoing supervision.
Through my counselling and psychotherapy work to date, I have encountered a range of life difficulties and emotional challenges, particularly in the areas of romantic and interpersonal relationships, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, overthinking, and feelings of emotional insecurity. I also have experience working with individuals who struggle with obsessive thoughts and compulsive patterns, as well as various forms of emotional dependency and relationship difficulties.
I am particularly interested in working with people who feel trapped in patterns that no longer serve them, struggle to set boundaries, fear abandonment, feel insecure in romantic relationships, or find it difficult to cope with their emotions and thoughts.
In my work, I strive to create a safe and accepting space where clients can speak openly about what is troubling them without fear of judgment. Through the principles of Reality Therapy, I support clients in developing a deeper understanding of their needs, relationships, choices, and behaviours, while helping them find more constructive ways to build a better and more fulfilling life.
Before focusing on psychotherapy, I gained experience working as an educator and English language teacher. My master’s degree in pedagogy also provided me with valuable knowledge about emotional, social, and personal development. These experiences now complement my psychotherapy work, while my primary professional focus is counselling and psychotherapy with adults.
I work with adults who are experiencing:
– anxiety and panic attacks
– obsessive thoughts and compulsive patterns
– difficulties in romantic relationships
– fear of abandonment and emotional dependency
– low self-esteem and insecurity
– overthinking and emotional overwhelm
– difficulties setting boundaries
– life crises and feelings of being stuck
– difficulties making decisions and finding a sense of direction in life
I believe that change does not mean becoming someone else. It means developing a better understanding of ourselves, our needs, and our choices, and gradually learning to live in a way that is aligned with what truly matters to us.
My aim is to provide clients with a safe space, understanding, and professional guidance so that they can gain a clearer understanding of their difficulties, recognise the patterns that limit them, and take concrete steps towards a more fulfilling life.
